Andrews Counselling
Counselling, why now?
Facing and exploring the way we are feeling is instrumental in improving the way we are feeling.
You may feel that sometimes life doesn't seem right. Perhaps you're feeling that life is being endured, rather than lived and enjoyed, and you recognise something has to change. It is helpful to see who and where you are, what got you here, and consider where and what you'd like to be.
Counselling is incredibly useful for discussing and exploring many aspects of your life, and the memories, feelings and thoughts that need the attention you may not otherwise give them. Many people now recognise the benefits of Counselling and Therapy in much the same way they would view other health professionals.
The benefits of Talking Therapies are now widely known and published. Working in a safe and protected space to discuss the issues that are impacting on you is incredibly effective and productive in discovering you and your life in ways you may not have thought possible.
Your Counselling work provides the necessary time, space and communication in a framework that is centred on you, on your experiences, and your emotion and understanding. Counselling helps you to explore and express your past and present, allowing safe recognition and progress with issues that are affecting you. Whether these are aspects of your experience you are aware of or not, being able to tell your life story, and find meaning in it underpins the feeling of self worth and self knowledge you may desire. This is the work we do together.
Counselling is a positive and worthwhile decision to explore it if you're feeling stuck, experiencing negativity, or your well-being is being detrimentally affected. I'm Jonathan, and I'm an accredited Counsellor with the BACP, my role is to offer a safe and constructive place for you to talk, explore and address issues that are impacting on you and your life. I offer the time, energy and commitment to helping you to do these things.
How can we work
You're you, not your issue
Working through and exploring issues and reflections with clients is an encouraging and rewarding challenge.
Even considering self-work shows a curiosity, courage and determination that can be beneficial for resilience and self exploration.
It's important to be with you to help identify, explore and work through the story of your life to a more positive understanding, orientation and focus, and your progress is rooted in the honesty and courage you can bring to our work together.
About me, and how we work
I can offer open ended, long term, and short term/solution focused counselling. I'm committed to providing a safe place to express yourself, and also work with you at a safe level with positive actions and steps you want to make.
All the details relating to our work are in a framework and agreement available before we begin.
How do we work
Remote counselling can be useful sometimes, and we can work on the phone, or through digital platforms. This can be useful for those times when an in person meeting is not possible, or can be your usual mode of working. All I ask is that you ensure the same level of privacy and security that I would, and that you have a space you feel safe and comfortable to work in.
50 minute sessions are charged at £50, though fees may be subject change with negotiation. I'm happy to discuss amendments for Block Bookings, Students, or life situations that may impact on you.
